History of England

History of England is a show which sees the Spanner Lads investigating what it is that makes England English. Their irreverent romp through England's invasion soaked history takes them right through from the Roman occupancy through to the Battle of Hastings as they present all of the myths, legends and stories which we have been left with in a way you've never seen them before to try to make some sort of sense of it all. Spanner tell the story of King Arthur in 15 minutes (making sure they include all of the fighting) and put an interesting modern hip-hop slant on the Robin Hoodies and the only question that remains is whether they will kill eachother before they reach the end.

History of England is loud, energetic and can be performed in studio theatres but is particularly suitable for outdoor spaces and festivals. The show is family friendly and allows interaction with a younger audience.

'It was great, i'm not sure who liked it more though, us or the kids' (audience member)
