What Spanner believe
We believe that Theatre is at its best when it is engages directly with people's experience of life. By doing this Spanner Theatre aims to provide people with the oppotunity to laugh, gasp and cry at things which become so habitual that we don't even notice them anymore - The beautiful weirdness and weird beauty of day to day living
We want to encourage young people that their own experiences of life and their reactions to it are valid starting points for creating theatre.
When we look outside, into the world, at a first glance everything seems to be relatively normal but when you look a bit closer and really start to question why people are behaving in certain ways and believe certain things it just seems to get stranger and stranger until 'normal' doesn't seem to exist anymore.
Or maybe it's just us... are we dereanged or plagued with some sort of illness...should we phone the insane asylum? |
